Al Bell Named One Of The Most Influential African Americans In Radio
Radio Ink magazine has named Al Bell, the former owner and Chairman of Stax Records and former President of Motown Records, one of the “Most Influential African Americans in Radio.” Mr. Bell was recognized both because of his early background in the radio business and as the founder/chairman/CEO of Al Bell Presents.
“I am thrilled to be recognized by Radio Ink magazine as one of the Most Influential African Americans in Radio,” Mr. Bell commented. “I started in the entertainment business as a radio broadcaster in Little Rock, Memphis, and Washington, DC, and at heart I’m still a radio guy. That’s why, at Al Bell Presents, I am building Al Bell Presents American Soul Music as the first of a number of radio stations online, while still focusing on the long-standing relationships between the radio business and the recorded music business. Anyone who plans to succeed in the entertainment industry today and tomorrow must utilize all distribution platforms to reach as broad an audience as possible. More and more, the future of both the radio and the music business is determined by the listener, and that’s what our new business paradigm at Al Bell Presents is all about.” [Full Story: Radio Ink]
