The crew from the TV One network arrive here in the bluff city Wednesday December 16th to connect with Memphis’ own legendary R&B funk group, the Bar-Kays.  They will be visiting for several days in efforts to capture the story behind the success and history of the group to feature them on the popular show, “UnSung”.  The Bar-Kays, which now consists of Larry Dodson and James Alexander, will speak about past members, like Ben Cauley and Winston Stewart, what they’ve done over the years, as well as the preparation for their upcoming 2010 world concert tour.

Going into it’s second season, UnSung shows the true story behind Black music in America.  This show has featured stories on Bootsy Collins, Teena Marie, Zapp and several others.  It’s series profiles R&B and Soul artists of the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s that seem to have been forgotten, but have been extremely influential to musicians and millions of fans all over the world.  In an effort to spotlight artists outside of the norm, the show features groups like the Bar-Kays that are worthy of being awarded for their lifetime achievement.

Stay tuned to your TV One network for show times and schedules.
