This weekend in Memphis music

It’s kind of a dry time for events as we get closer and closer to the end of the year and family festivities tend to go into full swing. But there’s always something going on, and we’ve got a few options for you to take in this weekend:

  • Tonight at Nocturnal, Memphis Punk Rock XMas Show, featuring Distemper, Wild Emotions, The Ross Johnson Problem, double bill with Babes in Toyland Cabaret! Both shows, $15.
  • Tonight at the New Daisy, Taco & Da Mofos.
  • Tonight at the HiTone, Electrophonic Review with the Bo-Keys and the City Champs. Cover is $8, doors open at 9 p.m. for a show at 10.
  • Tonight at The Abbey, Memphis May Fire, Destruction of a Rose, Armana Reign, Affiance, A Sequence of Ghosts, Stories of Shepherds, We Left with Dignity, Mirrors, Constellations and Cognitive Atrophy at 2 p.m.
  • Tonight at Otherlands, Chris Milam gets things started at 8 p.m.
  • Tonight at Java Cabana, Kenturah Brown at 8 p.m.
  • Saturday at the Buccaneer, Process of Suffocation and Evil Army.
  • Saturday at Kudzu’s, the SwampKatz Band.
  • Saturday at Stage Stop, Joecephus and the George Jonestown Massacre, 10 p.m
  • Saturday at the Center for Southern Folklore Store, Kate Campbell, 8 p.m.
  • Saturday at Cafe Soul on South Main, the last Last Saturday with D’Monet & EssTribe kicks off at 9 p.m. Cover is $10, but you can get in free if you have a December birthday and the ID to prove it!
  • Saturday at the P&H, the BMGs.
  • Saturday at Neil’s, JP & The Jackrollers.
  • Saturday at The Cove, Bluff City Backsliders at 10 p.m.
  • Saturday at Otherlands, Girls Night Out featuring Michaela Caitlin and Marcella Simien, 8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday at the HiTone, Jack O and the Tennessee Tearjerkers, Limes and All Howlers, $7. Doors open at 9 p.m. for a 10 p.m. show.
  • Sunday at the Poplar Lounge, JP & The Jackrollers with the Hazy Skies, 9 p.m. for $5.
  • Sunday at Neil’s, House of Grace Benefit for Battered Women and their Children Concert featuring Papa Don McMinn, John Kilzer, Jimmy Davis, Chris Scott, R.T. Scott, JoJo Jeffries and many more. Starts at 1 p.m.
  • Sunday at Huey’s Downtown, Jeffrey and the Pacemakers at 8:30 p.m.
  • Sunday at Huey’s Midtown, the City Champs at 8:30 p.m.
