Memphis Music Launch: nose to the grindstone
The four MML finalist groups have been busy this week, and we’ve even seen some of their faces coming through the MRC as they’ve been meeting with our staff on their marketing and business plans. As they prepare to enter the studio in the next few weeks, here’s a quick update on what’s new.
You can catch Butta at the grand opening of the Urban Farmers Market at Tillman and Broad this Saturday, May 7. She’s in the process of researching the best way to donate proceeds from her song “Brighter Day” to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and taking steps toward recording her EP Only One.
Wes of Arvada met with Cameron and John here in the MRC this week about trademarks. Aside from taking care of business, the band has been recording vocals and working on DMX programming.

The members of Delta Collective have been in the songwriting zone this week. Their managers are also in the process of putting together a press kit and preparing promotional materials.
As we near the 60-day mark in our countdown to the Showcase, it’s hard to believe it’s almost been a month since the Launch Weekend. Stay tuned in the next 30 days for dispatches from the studio and hopefully some reports from our other four MML teams, who are all still working and recording, as well.
