Daniel Glass Bio-
Glassnote Entertainment Group is a full service independent music company founded by Daniel Glass, one of the most accomplished and respected people in the music industry. Beginning his career as a R&B/dance DJ while at Brooklyn College, Glass learned the music business by osmosis. Not long thereafter, he began working at SAM records as VP before moving to Chrysalis Records as Director of New Music Marketing, and later, Senior VP. He later served as President/CEO of EMI Record Group (North America) and President of Universal Records and Artemis Records before eventually founding Glassnote in 2007.
His devotion to music and the artists that create this magic is what drove him to create Glassnote. Through Glassnote, Mr. Glass has created the next-generation music company. It can be looked at as a rebirth of the great independent record companies –Chrysalis, Motown, Atlantic and Island — but built for the ever-changing marketplace. Glassnote understands that today’s musicians have grown increasingly savvy about the current music business. Artists are aware that it is no longer necessary to subscribe to the traditional music business model that takes away control and ownership of their own career.
When building Glassnote, Daniel Glass constructed his team using the same philosophies that he used to find musical talent. Each member of the Glassnote Team has a passion for music, an understanding of the evolving industry, and the work ethic to grow the label and its artists. Those involved in all aspects of touring, recording, internet promotion, new media marketing and promotion are considered partners as everyone works together to strategize and develop an artist’s career.
The current artist roster of Glassnote is a diverse group of creators, whose success is largely due to the creative freedom that they enjoy as well as the expertise that Daniel Glass brings. That roster includes international phenoms Phoenix (Grammy winners) and Mumford & Sons (Grammy nominated) as well as rising acts like Two Door Cinema Club and Childish Gambino.
